

Artist Pat Bavin (also a CKCS member) has created a lovely Kain-theme painting "Local Ascent, Conrad Kain" and donated it to the Society as a fundraiser. The 28" x 22" acrylic collage on canvas combines a portrait of Kain with three of the most technical peaks he made first ascents of: Farnham Tower and Bugaboo Spire in the Purcells and Mt Louis in the Rockies.
250 raffle tickets, at $20 each, will go on sale on the eve of the Conrad Kain Mountain Film Night, April 24, and continue to sell until the draw which will be held on July 11, at the Conrad Kain Memorial Cairn unveiling ceremony in Wilmer.
Tickets will be available where the painting is hanging, at Bavin Glassworks 4884A Athalmer hwy, Invermere BC (250) 342-6816, as well as Columbia Valley Trading Company on 7th Ave (main street) in Invermere (250) 342-3366.
